Nexus ATL Office Mural

The BCG Nexus Atlanta office consists of hundreds of people with different backgrounds, abilities, intrests, and more. My team was tasked with representing all of this in one beautiful mural.

In order to reflect this diversity authentically and beautifully, we conducted interviews with employees asking about themselves, what was most important to them, and what they bring to work every day. From those interviews we heard incredible stories of perseverance, learned about hobbies we had never heard of before, and got to connect with our coworkers on a new level.

That interview phase done, we began our work in creating a mural that blended all of these incredible aspects of our community in one place. It would be impossible to reflect every aspect of our 500+ strong office in one hallway, but we tried to take inspiration from each person with spoke with and developed a style of portrait that allowed us to feature many different aspects of our coworkers. From one colleague’s passion for Thai dance, to my own cat Opal prowling on top of one of the picture frames, we took care to include details to truly bring the culture of our office to life in one place.

Finally, at the point of the mural where you turn into the hallway, we’ve placed a mirror, allowing colleagues and visitors to see their own self there, among the hundreds of other unique and incredible people all connected in this one building.
